Arturo Carmassi (1925-2015). Internationally renowned painter, sculptor and engraver. Carmassi was a leading figure of the Italian 20th century neo-cubist movement after WW2. He moved to Milan in 1952, and came in contact with the historic avant-gardes. In his works he highlighted an informal character with surrealist references. In the late 1960s his painting recovered the objective character of the image.
