Elvio Becheroni

Elvio Becheroni (1934-2000) was Italian postwar contemporary artist and sculptor. He was best known for abstract, geometric sculpture and mixed-media artwork. He was born in Florence, exhibited largely in Milan, but in his 40's he moved to Brasil where his work became heavily influenced by expeditions into the Amazon. He tried to draw attention through his wood sculpture, wood recovered from log burning, to the plight of the Amazon.
