Franco Gelli
Franco Gelli (1930-1997). Gelli studied architecture, but turned to painting under the guidance of Mario De Luigi. He exhibited his first painting at Bevilacqua la Masa - Venetian years 1950/55. He joined the Genetic Art Movement (GHEN - founded by Francesco Saverio Dòdaro in 1976) and was the "number two" of the movement. He created, among other works, "Genetic hypothesis of the city, 1984", which explored the visceral relationship between art, living life in a city and the social evolution of cities. This theme of the unbearable symbiotic relationship between mother and child through pregnancy and birth was explored in 'Mother fixation'.
