Born in Lübeck (Germany) in 1935, Peter Klasen is a german painter, photographer and sculptor working on the theme of sensuality in industrialisation (the agreeable and the disagreeable). He is a founding member of LA Nouvelle Figuration, with artists Valerio Adami, Erró, Jacques Monory, Bernard Rancillac and Hervé Télémaque. His first solo exhibition took place in 1966, in Paris.
